Problem Solving Treatment
This session will provide an overview of problem solving treatment and how it can be utilized to assist patients with developing problem solving skills utilizing self-management techniques.

At the conclusion of this training course the participant will be able to:
- Review problem-solving treatment techniques and application for patients diagnosed with depression/anxiety.
- Describe the goals of problem solving treatment.
- List the steps of problem solving treatment.
- Apply concepts to patient specific scenarios.
This session is intended for the behavioral health care manager (BHCM) in the Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) and is applicable to nurses, social workers, advanced practice providers, medical assistants, community health workers and other care team members seeking to expand their knowledge and skills of problem solving treatment.

Eric Lake is a psychologist who specializes in the treatment of chronic pain and works in the Mary Free Bed Pain Rehabilitation Program, an interdisciplinary program that addresses many pain conditions. He received his master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University and is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
