Session 3: Problem-Solving Therapy & Behavioral Activation
This course is designed to provide an overview of the key components and tools of problem solving therapy and behavioral activation to help manage patients with depression in behavioral medical integration or collaborative care model.
This course is intended for care managers and other practice team in primary care or ambulatory care setting implementing the collaborative care model. This recorded material is available for nursing and social work enduring continuing education credits.
- Understand depression from a problem solving therapy (PST) & behavioral activation (BA) perspective
- Understand rationale of PST and BA for use in the primary care setting
- Understand core principles of PST & BA
- Deepened understanding of the management of asthma
- Develop skills to utilize PST & BA for depression management
- Learn to facilitate an appropriate problem-solving orientation
