Intended audience

This course is designed to provide an introduction to managing patients with chronic headache pain.  It is intended for care managers in the primary care or ambulatory care settings.  This recorded material is available for nursing and social work enduring continuing education credits.


  1. Describe the characteristics of the difficult headache patient
  2. Differentiate Cortical Spreading Depression from Central Sensitization
  3. Identify appropriate options for patient’s failing standard care
  4. Review the social/cultural and behavioral impact of chronic pain
